"I joined Arts North 10 or so years ago as a complete novice, but was given lots of encouragement and advice from the more experienced members; Hans Koppan gave me lots of help with landscapes etc and Gerhard Ritter did the same when it came to trying portraits.
I still appreciate their comments and advice which is slowly raising the standard of my work.
Thursday morning is my painting day at the club; I enjoy the interaction with the other members and seeing all the different styles of painting . I paint purely for my own satisfaction and am not keen on submitting work to exhibitions as I have already been down that track in a previous life when I was a potter and was always hurrying to get enough work ready for exhibitions and displays; now I just want to enjoy the process."
