As the crowd rolled in to Fremont Park to the sound of the Elizabeth Pipe Band, Colin had the pleasure and challenge of doing the first portrait of the day. As the crowd built up, before long Colin, Sue and Erin were all working hard to meet every portrait request the stall was being bombarded with. The displayed artwork and Meredith's donated home grown apricots were enticing people closer while Meredith and Alex chatted to visitors out front.
With a constant demand for portraits, Don and Graham did the last couple of hours 'shift' and when the Event MC announced closing time, there were still people (very) determined to get their portrait drawn.
Doubtless, some of the sitters may have hoped for more polished outcomes (everyone appeared reasonably pleased; most seemed particularly pleased.) The day was, regardless, a great opportunity to support the community, while promoting Arts North at the same time. ... And it was fun!
