HI!! As of about now (late Nov 14) , what was the 'Blog' page has become the 'Bulletins' page. It will bring (You?) the reader whatever available jottings of ArtsNorth events - both those coming up AND reports of those just past, in the most timely fashion that unpaid workers can reasonably achieve. In theory, you should be able to get information almost as soon as resources can make it available - rather than wait for a monthly publication to be put together, published and distributed. After that, it is over to you ... In a wee short while, the 'Bulletins' page will also take over the role of what has been the 'Events & Notices' page: This means that members, in particular, should be able to check just about any up-coming event in the ArtsNorth/Adelaide General sphere with a one-click (favourites/bookmark) access to the "Bulletins' page - should they wish? Munno Para Arts North Promotion Exhibition The art exhibition held recently at Munno Para Shopping Centre has once again been well received with high approval rate by Munno Para Centre management and general public , an indication of this was the large amount of raffle tickets sold. The raffle prizes were artworks that were kindly donated by our very own talented artists, Hans Koppan and Don Meyer and also very well recognised artist Peter McLay. The high standard of artwork on display was appreciated by the public, with some sales - but most importantly gaining new members to join us in the varied mediums practised at Judd house.. Again these events are not possible without members to do the organising, transportation and manning of the event. Big thank you to all members involved in the exhibition. Happy Bithday to the Arts North Web Site .... Congratulations www.artsnorth.net on its first anniversary. Although the idea of a website for ArtsNorth had been mused upon from time to time, nobody actually did anything about It, until Don Meyer took the bull by the horns and made it happen! Don introduced the idea to the committee late last year and with their approval took on the task of obtaining a domain name, setting up the website and maintaining it. This has been (and still is) a huge task and Don does an outstanding job in keeping it up to date. The website looks modern and exciting, is very informative and has received many compliments from both ArstNorth members and the wider community. Don’s latest initiative is to include the news bulletin into the website, which means that you will be able to access the ArtsNorth news and information promptly; “hot off the press” as they say. This means that you will no longer be receiving a newsletter by email. On behalf of ArtsNorth I would like to thank Don for his tireless efforts and his excellent work in creating and maintaining our very own website. I would also like to remind members to keep sending photographs of their artwork to Don for inclusion in the website. Cheers Meredith Parker ArtsNorth President 2014 |
