Colin Ross Trenaman
If you haven't seen Colin's latest work - on display in the studio, obviously you have not been to the studio.

Also gracing the studio wall is the work (photo on the left - click to enlarge) by Meredith Parker on the theme of 'Recovery' (displayed originally at the Sampson Flat fire communities' 'Recovery Event').  Meredith was particularly stoked to have the attendant Mayor make impromptu but focal reference to her work when noting the spirit of all those affected by the fires. The photo on the right is from a current drawing .. a work in progress ... perhaps just like 'recovery'.

"This 25 minute pose was drawn digitally by Colin Ross Trenaman using the Android App called Autodesk Sketchbook, which you can get for free on the internet to download directly to your smartphone (this is not a paid advertisement, other apps are available).

This particular app makes use of the smartphone's touchscreen, and this image has been drawn with the artist's relatively thick fingertip (compared to the smartphone screen, that is).

The resulting lack of precision in the mark-making can provide an enjoyable challenge, and the end product can be quite aesthetically appealing as a result of the continual process of refinement. Colin has translated his traditional sculptural charcoal-drawing style over into the digital medium to create this image."

Ed -The Model was Adrian - with the addition of  another 20 years, the likeness is Very good.  Must have a go!
