A very welcome circumstance.
But, especially valid is a hearty "Welcome, all you new members"!!

After a Covid 'hiatus', we have, right now, as many people attending General Drawing as can be handled. A very welcome circumstance. But, especially valid is a hearty "Welcome, all you new members"!! (As of now, any new enquiries will need to be held over until there is a vacancy.) Among the new members are Brenton and Abigail. Above a very credible work by Brenton after only five sessions. All that perspective!! Well Done!

A workshop - 'A Practical Understanding of Perspective' Wed 10 Nov 21 Anyone have WONKY Work??
If your drawing knowledge lets you end up with drawings or paintings you know you shouldn't have trusted, or feel are 'not right' - but that perhaps other people are too kind to tell you - your problem, one way or another, most likely comes from some element of 'perspective' (and yes, that includes tone). Don Meyer reckons that he can take you from 'fear' to 'no-sweat' with a single, 'down-to-earth' 'KISS' workshop. Wednesday 10 Nov, 10.00 am - 3.30 (4.00) pm. $10/head to club funds. A3 sketch pad, pencil/charcoal. Interested? List is on notice board or contact Don 0417892019 (If you are one of the many people who "knows wonky when you see it", but is not always aware of what to do about it, perhaps you owe it to yourself to try this basic 'one-day cure-all ' workshop.) A 'work in progress', in between 'sessions' - pallet showing - an irresistible opportunity for "photograph now, ask permission later." (Thanks for the permission, Hans, for this photo, if not perhaps for this item).
In what has been something of a year of disruption for many, there is, in Hans' work above (title?) a very comforting "deft certainty", even before completion. Hans is/has been an absolute stalwart at Arts North - totally generous, as well as talented and dedicated. Always very reassuring when Hans is around! All at Arts North are in his debt one way or another. Thanks Hans! D. |
