A very informative Arts North day. Gerhard Ritter probably doesn't have every framing answer, but he has all the practical answers that matter! Works on board, stretched canvas, paper .. he demonstrated the lot in the space of a few hours.
Gerhard demonstrated not just mat cutting, but glass and acrylic (perspex) cutting as well. Lots of tips - eg how to hang an unframed board without framing; or, mounting canvas board in a (subsequently matted) foam board sandwich. He passed on tips on what to buy and where; what you need - and what you might get by with.
He dealt with basics (the difference between various D rings) and the technical (perspex saw teeth; multi-points drivers and cost of same; the distance that a Vee nailer feed spring can travel unobserved).
