A very useful demonstration indeed. Portraiture using watercolour wash and pencil - pencil(s) specifically Staedtler Lumograph 7B and 8B.
(These two grades of the Staedtler range have a textual quality quite distinct from others)
Lyn says that ideally this technique should allow the pencil and the wash elements to be equally fundamental to the composition.
(For those that attended, - a memory jog (no imagery to hand). Lyn showed a couple of landscapes done with the pen and wash technique applied over the top of oil pastel highlight features - whereby the oil pastel resists the subsequent wash(es) and the pencil provides the detail. Very interesting.
